Show Us Where You Live Friday: Master Bedroom

Kelly's Korner is featuring my favorite room in the house (other than JJ's room) - the Master Bedroom. I love our furniture and I love how it is decorated. It's small but cozy. Unfortunately, I don't get to just sit and enjoy it very often. haha! Welcome to our home and enjoy the tour!

Our bed is Queen size. I would like to have King size but this works well for now. Besides, we couldn't fit a King in our little room!

This is Jorge's dresser. I love that we each have our own dressers!

This is my dresser. Love all the drawers!

This is the view at the foot of the bed. The door on the right is our master bath (which is basically being used as storage right now) and the door on the left is my closet. Jorge's closet is in the spare room.

This is the nightstand.

Some of the decorations on my dresser.

Last, but not least, is the ceiling. I like it because it's a little different and not so boring. The ceiling fan is right over our bed.

So, there you have it - our master bedroom. Not much but it's ours and I love it. Check out Kelly's Korner to see lots of other master bedrooms!

Here is an updated pic. of our living room. I found something to place underneath the 3 pictures above the couch. I think it looks much better this way!

I Heart Faces: LET'S HEAR IT FOR THE BOYS

In honor of Father's Day, the theme this week at I Heart Faces is Let's Hear It For The Boys. Quite appropriate, I think. And since my most favorite person ever is a boy ;) I'm quite happy about it, too! Anyway, check out the pics. I submitted and, if you have a chance, check out the I Heart Faces website for the other submitted pics.

Kids Entry: Let's Hear It For The Boys - I took this picture of JJ at a friends birthday party. He was lovin' the balloons and I was lovin' the colors!

Adult Entry: Let's Hear It For The Boys - this is a picture I took when JJ was 7 months old. You can see the deep love this father has for his son. I've always adored this picture! I hope you like it, too.

Father's Day Weekend

First of all, I would like to wish my Daddy and hubby a Happy Father's Day! My Daddy is the most amazing father in the world and I love him dearly!

Jorge, is such a great daddy to JJ. We both love him so much and are thankful for him!

So, this weekend started on Friday. JJ and I spent the day at my parents house. My Dad's favorite dessert is German Chocolate Cake. I wanted to make him something but wanted to make something besides regular German Chocolate Cake. I came up with German Chocolate Cheesecake. It was so yummy! And I think he really liked it, too!

Saturday, we stopped at Best Buy and bought the camera before meeting my parents at La Luna for dinner. It's a yummy mexican restaurant. We stuffed ourselves before heading to the Yard Dawgz arena football game.

On the way to the game, we stopped by a fire truck parked outside and took a few pictures.

JJ looks so tiny next to this massive truck!

A fun family photo.

There was also a huge slide outside the arena. Of course, we needed pictures so Jorge took JJ down the slide. How fun!

After that, we headed inside to watch the game.

I love JJ's expression! It looks like he's actually cheering for the team. In reality, he's just yelling. Because, well...because that's what he does now days. He yells. haha!

Yelling. Again.

Grandpa had to go get popcorn - much to JJ's happiness. He dug right in and helped himself to a nice treat!

We left the game at the beginning of the 3rd quarter. JJ was just so tired and ready for bed. We were walking to the car when this happened...

Then this happened...

And then this... He was asleep before we even got to our car!

JJ fell asleep about 9:00 and didn't wake up until 8:00 this morning. Yay for us! I don't remember the last time he slept that long. We'll have to go to Yard Dawg games more often if 11 hours of sleep is the result! haha!

While Jorge was still sleeping this morning I had JJ write on his card. He's just recently started scribbling so I had him draw on his Daddy's card.

We went to Denny's for breakfast before church and JJ, of course, had to do a bit of yelling. This time he wasn't happy though. I think he was hungry for his breakfast!

Me and my man on the way to church after breakfast.

After morning service, we spent a couple hours with Jorge's family before heading back to church for evening service. My father-in-law also loves German Chocolate Cake so I baked him a German Chocolate Cheesecake as well. They also really liked it! I made a New York Cheesecake for my mother-in-law while I was there and listened to Nilo (one of my brothers-in-law) play and sing a beautiful song that he just wrote. It honestly was amazing and sounds like something that could be played on the radio today. The Lord has blessed him with great talent. Overall, it was a great weekend. I am so fortunate to have such wonderful men in my life!

Found

The title is dedicated to Hubby who insisted "Found" be the title of this blog. I was lost (previous blog) and now am found. Get it? heh,heh... Anywho, I am a much happier person now! Hubby and I bought a camera yesterday. Yay, me! I first saw the camera at Best Buy and loved it immediately. Mainly because it has 10x zoom - which is awesome - but also because it was the perfect size. I did some research and found that it has all rave reviews so I knew it was the one for us. So, after much driving around, we found the camera at a Best Buy and I immediately put it to use! Here is my new favorite toy...

Lost

No, I'm not talking about the TV series (I, personally, have never cared for that show. Too weird, complicated, confusing, did I say weird?). Anyway, I'm talking about me. I'm lost. Completely, totally, utterly, helplessly lost. You may be wondering by now what the heck I'm talking about. I'm talking about my camera. It quit working while we were at the lake last Friday and I haven't had it since then! Agh! Not one single picture, not one single video. Our camera has been in constant use since the day JJ was born. This is the first time we've gone a week without taking any pictures of JJ. The only good thing about it is, if it's not worth fixing, I get a new camera! Yay, me! Anywho, I'm hoping this one gets fixed quickly or we get another one quickly. I don't know how much longer I can go without taking any pictures! haha!

Roughing It

This past weekend, we packed up and went camping with a group of people from our church. I grew up going camping every summer but haven't gone in years. This was our first camping trip as a family. Hubby left work early on Friday and we headed out about 1:30. We arrived at Lake Canton about 2 hours later. A couple friends set up the tent for Hubby and I got JJ ready to go swimming.

A little while later we headed down to the lake where most everyone was. JJ first played in the sand under a tent. He loved every minute of it!

After a while, a friend came and took JJ into the water. He smiled and squealed the whole time!

I joined them a bit later and brought his blow-up turtle with me. We put him in it and he splashed and played and laughed! He was definitely a very happy little boy! I honestly think he could spend all day digging in dirt and playing in water. We have an outdoors-y boy on our hands!

That night, we sat around the campfire, talked, and make s'mores. Yum! I haven't had those in years and I must say, they were a highlight! JJ hadn't slept all day so he crashed at about 8:30. JJ and I shared a pop-up camper with a friend and her son. I went to bed about 12:30 but wasn't able to sleep because it was so windy. Little did I know how bad it would actually get. The camper was rocking back and forth and shaking and shuddering. Kelly and I were afraid the thing was going to fall apart! She watched JJ while I went to check on Hubby in his tent. I figured if we were feeling the wind this badly, he must be really having a time of it. I got to his tent and there wasn't even a breeze! That's when I decided to take JJ and join Hubby in his tent. I got JJ to finally go back to sleep and was ready to go to sleep myself. It was about 3:00 at this time and I hadn't slept for a single minute. That's when it all started. The wind picked up and the tent started folding and bending. When the tent was laying on top of me that's when I knew we needed to get out of there. I woke hubby up and we decided to head to the car. Everyone else had the same idea because we were all running to our vehicles. We sat in the car and watched as 70 mph winds tore the campground apart. Things were flying everywhere! We looked for our tent a bit later and it was plastered against the bathrooms several yards away. We had gotten out just in time! When the winds finally calmed down we decided to try to get a little bit of sleep. Our tent was no longer usable so we tried the camper. I slept for about an hour. When I woke up, it was about 8:00 and the winds were still pretty high so we all decided leave early and headed home. Amazingly, JJ slept through all of it (except for about an hour between the transfer from camper to tent). We, unfortunately, did not and were exhausted. It was a fun and crazy weekend and I can't wait to do it again!

Here is a video Hubby took of us playing in the water. I wish I would have thought to video the storm as it was tearing up our camp site. What a great first-camping-trip memory that would be!
